What is recorded here

According to Mongey (1934, 266) a road close to the unlocated souterrain (WA024-080----) was known as 'Bothairín an Chapaill' - the horse's road. This road is marked on the 1840 ed. of the OS 6-inch map as a thoroughfare running generally SE from the public road at Fox's Caslte through that townland and along the boundary between Kilminnin and Curraheen to the R675 public road at Scartacroola (L c. 2.5km). The road is no longer extant, but there is no indication that it was ancient. Compiled by: Michael Moore. Date of upload/revision: 12th May, 2011.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
