What is recorded here

Situated on a slght SW-facing slope. Circular grass and scrub-covered area (diam. c. 26m) defined by a widely spread earthen bank (at W: Wth 7m; int. H 0.25m; ext. H 0.8m) with a flat-bottomed outer fosse (at W: Wth of base 2.8m; D 0.7m). An external bank (at W: Wth 5m; ext. H 0.6m), which is truncated by a NNW-SSE field bank at E, is preserved elsewhere with intermittent traces of an outer fosse (Wth 3.5m). There is no visible entrance. It remains unplanted in a coniferous forest. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore. Date of upload/revision: 9th May, 2011.
