What is recorded here

Located at the crest of a W-facing slope overlooking the valley of the N-S Colligan River, with the stream c. 350m to the W. Subcircular area (dims. 31.5m E-W; 26m N-S) defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 4-5m; int. H 1-1.4m; ext. H 0.7-1.6m) with traces of internal stone-facing. An external flat-bottomed fosse (At N: Wth of top 5.4m; Wth of base 3.2m; ext. D 0.6m) and outer bank (Wth 1.5m; ext. H 0.3m) survive W-NE. The only entrance (Wth 2m) is at SE, and it is planted with coniferous trees. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
