What is recorded here

According to Redmond (1885-6a, 402) two stones at the corner of a street in Cappoquin were almost venerated locally. One was regarded as a hearth-stone from the house of St Declan's father, and the other was thought to have an inscription. The location is not known. Redmond, G. (1885-6a) Notes on the history, antiquities, archaeoloical remains and legends connected with the western end of the county Waterford, JRSAI, 17, 394-405 Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 21 March 2011

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
