According to Power (1906, 32) there was a place called an Seana Shráid, or the old street, at Carriganard that could be interpreted as a village. Locally this is thought to have been one of the roads running S at Six Roads cross-roads, but it uncertain which one. Old crockery was found there where night soil from the city was spread.
