Situated on a slight rise in a low-lying position with the S-N Ballymoat stream c. 130m to the E. It is probably a local stone with an irregular cross-section (dims. c. 0.8m x c. 0.65m; H 3.7m) and pointed top. It is oriented WNW-ESE. Barrow (WA017-042----) is c. 90m to the SW. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
