Situated at the W edge of a broad marshy basin. The church of St Barry (WA017-003001-) is within a subrectangular graveyard (WA017-003002-) defined by a high masonry wall. A large building described by O'Donovan c. 1840 (WA017-003004-) S of the church (O'Flanagan 1929, 1-2.), has been removed, but traces of it have been discovered in excavation (04E0285) during 2007 (Pollock 2010b). Just 5m to its S were traces of two timber structures represented as faint traces of the N wall-bases. The area between the stone and timber structures was cobbled (Pollock 2007b, c; 2010b).
