A souterrain consisting of a beehive chamber (diam. 2.15m; H 1.8m) connected by a creep (L 1.1m; Wth 0.55m; H 0.6m) to an oval chamber (dims. 2.2m x 1.5m; max. H 1.2m) was opened c. 1982. An entrance passage leads N from the opened chamber within the SE part of rath (WA016-043001-) and is still open. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 23 December 2008
