Excavated (99E0622) as part of the N25 Kilmacthomas re-alignment at Chainage 9630. Situated on a slight S-facing slope with a NNE-SSW stream c. 50m to the SE. An oval pit (dims. 1.9m x 0.65m; D 0.5m) contained black silt with pebbles and some charcoal and traces of iron slag. Three small pits (diam. c. 0.2m x c. 0.25m; D 0.2m to 0.7m x 0.56m; D 0.25m) form a line running N from it. No dating evidence was recovered, but fulacht fia (WA015-096----) is c. 70m to the NE, and the pits (WA015-100----) are c. 130m to the SW. (Elder 2002; Elder and Tierney 2002, 12-16)
