Excavated (00E0196) as Area 5 of the N25 Kilmacthomas re-alignment. Situated on a slight E-facing slope. An irregularly-shaped burnt mound (dims. c. 12.5m NW-SE; c. 7.5m NE-SW; T 0.1m) had a circular trough (diam. 1.5m; D 0.5m) lined with clay. It was adjacent to a dried-up spring, and the basal layer of the trough produced a C14 determination of 2040-1420 cal. BC. (Pollock 2002; 2008, 74-5)
