What is recorded here

Situated in tillage on a gentle S-facing slope. Circular area (diam. 41m E-W; 40m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 5.5-6m; int. H 1-1.2m; ext. H 1.4-1.7m), an outer fosse (Wth of top 6.3-6.5m; Wth of base 2m; ext. D 1-1.4m) and an external bank (Wth 4-6m; ext. H 0.6-1m) NE-SW. A slight scarp marks the line of the inner bank elsewhere. The entrance, through the inner (Wth 2.4m) and outer (Wth 1.3m) banks, and causeway, are at SSE. The banks are planted with coniferous trees, and the outer bank forms the townland boundary with Kealfoun E-SW. Enclosure (WA015-019----) is c. 150m to the WSW. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
