In an area of poorly drained land. This monument was completely excavated in advance of a development by West Pharmaceutical Products Ireland Ltd. (Excavation Licence number 15E0260). It consists of a truncated cresent-shaped burnt mound (dims. c. 9m x 4m; D 0.1m) with a trough and two shallow pits. The large sub-rectangular trough (dims. 2.7m x 2.5m; D 1.1m) had gradual sides and a flat base and contained a primary fill of charcoal-rich clay with heat-affected stone, a secondary fill with heat-affected stone and an upper fine silt deposit. The two associated pits (dims. 1.3m x 0.84m; D 0.1m; 2.1m x 1.27m; D 0.33) were filled with material similar to the over-lying burnt mound deposit. (Walsh and Sutton 2015, 2, 10).
