The nunnery of Kilculliheen (WA009-008----) had five salmon weirs on the tidal part of the Suir in 1541, two of which were derelict at that time. (Went, 1946, 178) Went, A. E. J. (1946) Irish fishing weirs. Part 1. Notes on some ancient examples fished in tidal waters. JRSAI, vol. 76. 176-94.
