The church of St Thomas is located outside the medieval city, to the NW. The only known reference to this church dates to 1331, but the ruins survived until 1967 (Lumley 1978, 3). An illustration of the Romanesque chancel arch was published in 1912 (Anon. 1912, 265). It is not visible at ground level. (Bradley et al. 1989, vol. 2, 252)
