What is recorded here

Situated in a col between low hills c. 400m to the ESE and c. 800m to the WNW. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims. 35m NW-SE; 30m NE-SW) defined by slight traces of a bank (Wth 3-4m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1-1.5m) and an overgrown flat-bottomed fosse (Wth at base 2.5m; int. D 1.4m; ext. D 1m). It is curtailed at NE by a WNW-ESE field bank and townland boundary with Rathgormuck, and it is damaged by a quarry at SE with upcast placed in the interior and fosse (S-SSW). An entrance cannot be identified, but it may be obscured by spoil. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 19th October, 2010
