This ogham stone is located in flat pasture, land undulating gently to the NE, in upland terrain. A farm road runs immediately SE of a field boundary to the SE. The stone is red sandstone (max. H 1.98m; min. H 1.61m), roughly rectangular in plan (L 0.57m NE; 0.91m SE; 0.87m SW; 0.73m NW). The ogham inscription is on the S angle, only the lower portion is visible, the upper portion is obscured by lichen and weathering. The top of the stone reduces in height towards the NE. The SW face appears to be the front. The stone was identified by Power (1900, 97-100) who read the ogham inscription as: SUTACUNAS MAQI. Macalister (1945, 256) provides a slightly different interpretation: NETACUNAS MAQI LOBAC[CONA] and notes that the top of the stone is broken resulting in the loss of the end of the inscription.
