What is recorded here

According to the Civil Survey (1654-6) in 'Rathogally' there stands 'a weire belonging to the sd lands upon the River Shewer' which in 1640 was under the proprietorship of 'John Prendergast of Rathogeally Gent Papist' (Simington 1931, vol. 1, 343). This weir is unlocated within the townland of Rathokelly. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
