What is recorded here

According to Power (1908, 49) in the townland of Crohan there is a 'Cill Liath - "Grey Church"; a well-known sub-division. The site of the ancient church is now occupied by a farm house'. He also mentions a 'Cill Liath - “Grey Church”; an early church site now occupied by O'Donnell's farmhouse' (1908, 50-51) in the townland of Kilnacarriga, which is adjacent to E of Crohan. As these descriptions are almost identical it is likely that Power is referring to the same church. This monument is unlocated within Crohan/Kilnacarriga townlands. The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
