What is recorded here

On a gentle W-facing slope in gently undulating terrain, under tillage. This circular area (diam. 34.4m E-W; N-S not obtainable due to brambles in the S quadrant but c. 34m from OS map) is defined by an earthen bank (Wth 1.1m crest, 3.9m base; int. H 0.41m; ext. H 0.96-1.16m). The interior in the E quadrant appears to have been quarried into with spoil thrown up around it. The bank in the E quadrant is not evident, it is replaced by a later stone wall. In the N quadrant a possible external fosse is visible (Wth 2m; D 0.3m). A hollow in the S quadrant appears to be the entrance to a souterrain (TS088-009002-), now covered over.
