On a stream called 'Mill River' which loops off the River Tar. According to the Civil Survey (1654-6) on the Manor of Castle Grace there was 'a grist mill' (Simington 1931, vol.1, 371). The present mill at the location identified on the RMP (1997) is a 19th-century flour mill. The 17th-century mill remains unlocated. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
