In flat terrain, the monument is bisected by a field boundary with meadow on the E side and tillage (barley) on the W side. Castlegrace house, a Georgian house, is located c. 200m to the SE.
There is a large oak tree in the centre of the field boundary where the monument formerly stood. Thre is no visible trace of the enclosure above ground. According to landowner the field was used as an airstrip in the 1930s. It is depicted on the 1st (1840) OS 6-inch map as a circle with some trees in the interior. It may have been a tree-ring or a ringfort re-used as a tree-ring.
