What is recorded here

On a very gentle SE-facing slope in undulating pastureland. Large circular area (diam. 68m N-S and E-W) enclosed by a much denuded earthen bank (Wth 1.3m crest, 3.1m base; int. H 0.58m; ext. H 1.17m). The interior is mostly free of vegetation with scrub growing on the bank. A roadway runs along inside the bank in the W quadrant. Apart from the roadway, which enters the enclosure in the SW quadrant and exits it in the NW quadrant, there are gaps in the bank in the N and NE quadrants, broken though or widened for tractor access. The N gap (Wth 4.25m) may be the original entrance. The bank appears to have been augmented by dumped material, soil and scrub, in the NW sector. The bank in the S half of the enclosure is particularly denuded. There is a slight hollow in the interior towards the centre in the NE quadrant.
