What is recorded here

On the N-facing slope on summit of E-W ridge, in a long, narrow area of woodland called 'Knockaarum Wood'. A roughly triangular area (diam. 17.2m N-S; 21.5m E-W) enclosed by a bank (Wth 1.8m crest, 6m base; int. H 0.27-0.72m; ext. H 0.78-1.32m). The bank has slipped quite substantially into the interior on the S side. There is no clear evidence of an external fosse though there is a slight external depression in the NW quadrant. No entrance feature visible. A stone wall delimiting the wooded area runs 10m N of the enclosure, with an earthen bank enclosing the wood at a similar distance to S. The monument appears to 'fit' between these boundaries. Relatively clear of vegetation, some sycamore trees growing on bank and in interior.
