On a flat ridge in low lying marshy terrain with Shanbally river flowing c. 30m to S. No visible trace of monument which appears as a roughly circular cropmark on an aerial photograph (CUCAP 19 July 1970 BDS 23). In this photograph the field appears to have been reclaimed and regularised but these boundaries are no longer evident and rough scrub has returned.

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
