According to the Civil Survey (1654-6) in 'ffyglasse' in 1640 there 'stands a thatcht house' and the proprietors are listed as 'Catherin Walle of ffyglasse widdow in right of Dower James Walle of Coolnemucky in the County of Waterford Esqr The Heire Irish Papist' (Simington 1931, vol. 1, 269).
