What is recorded here

In St. Mary's graveyard (TS083-019020-) against the N wall of St Michael's chapel, 0.4m from its NE angle, is an upright graveslab, the base of which is embedded in the ground. This tapering red sandstone slab (L 0.83m; Wth top 0.27m; Wth base 0.19; T 0.08m) is chamfered on both sides while the chamfer along the top has been damaged. The narrower surface, possibly the back, is decorated with an incised plain cross, the arms (Wth 0.06m) extending to the chamfered edges. The broader, probably upper, surface is not visible.
