Located within St. Mary's church (TS083-019001-) there is a late 13th/14th-century effigial slab which was discovered at the W end of the nave, immediately S of the NW column during alterations in the 1990s. This limestone coffin-shaped slab with chamfered edges (L 1.42m; Wth at top 0.51m; Wth at base 0.27m) is currently visible under protective clear perspecs in the floor of the nave. On the surface of the slab there is an incised effigy of a figure clad in a long loose gown falling in many folds to the feet. The left hand is depicted holding the mantle string at chest height and the right hand grasps a fold of the mantle at upper leg height on the dexter side. The head of the figure is missing, either badly spawled or deliberately mutilated and the surface of the lower dexter side is also badly damaged. There is an inscription, in Lombardic characters, along the chamfer on the sinister side.
