What is recorded here

On top of broad hill in undulating terrain, in meadow. Ballindoney tower house (TS082-059----) is visible on a hill to the N and a ringfort (TS082-075----) is visible c. 250m to the SE. Monument depicted as circular enclosure (overall diam. c. 24m) on the 1st (1850) ed. 6-inch OS map and as a raised circular area (diam. c. 32m N-S; c. 30m E-W) on the 1904-05 ed. It has been levelled, however, the W half (diam. c. 29m E-W) is defined by a low, broad raised curve and the E half is outlined by a townland boundary which kinked around to respect this side of the monument. The townland boundary has a ditch along the W edge and the enclosure rises immediately W of this. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 12 February 2014
