What is recorded here

On flat ground on a hilltop in generally undulating terrain, under tillage. A rectangular enclosure is located c. 60m to the NE. Nicholastown Castle (TS082-043001-) is visible c. 4km to the SW. Enclosure indentified as a circular cropmark on an aerial photograph (CUCAP July 1970 BDR 71). There is no visible trace of the enclosure above ground. This enclosure may have been a landscape feature assoicated with Barn Demesne. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 22 January 2014
