What is recorded here

On the N-facing slope of a hill in generally undulating terrain. Rectangular possible enclosure (TS082-026----) situated c. 160m upslope to SE. Monument under tillage. This possible enclosure is marked on the 1st (1843) ed. OS 6-inch map as a rectangular area (dims. c. 27m NE-SW; c. 54m NW-SE) defined by trees. It is not indicated on the 1904-05 ed. The enclosure appears as a rectangular cropmark on aerial photographs (CUCAP July 1970 BDR 71; GSI May 1977 S.785/6). There is no visible trace of the enclosure above ground. It was possibly a landscape feature associated with Barn Demesne. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 21 January 2014

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
