What is recorded here

On the summit of a hill, in pasture. Church (TS082-008----) at foot of hill c. 260m to the SW and an enclosure (TS082-007002-) is located c. 20m to the SE. Circular area (57.8m N-S; 56m E-W) enclosed by quite a high, well-defined earthen and stone bank (Wth 1.4m crest - 9m base; int. H 1.4m; ext. H 2.45m) and U-shaped outer fosse (Wth 1.7m; D 0.53m). There is a lot of stone protruding through the grass-covered bank which has a steep external and internal profile. There is a narrow gap in the bank in the NW quadrant which appears to be caused by cattle. There is a gap in the SE quadrant (Wth c. 0.6m) which is quite narrow, though this could be the result of bank material narrowing the gap. There appears to be a causeway (Wth 6.8m) or a build up of material over the fosse at this point. A stone wall runs N-S 7m E of the ringfort.
