According to local tradition this font was moved from the medieval church at Kilcash (TS078-036002-) and is now at the rear of Kilcash 19th-century R.C. church on S side of porch. The I.T.A. Survey of 1942 records it as an ancient holy water stoup, on which is sculptured a representation of Our Lords Baptism. A large octagonal limestone font (dims. 0.7m x 0.7m; int.D 0.21m; ext. D 0.44m) with a central hole (diam. 0.09m), a worn polished surface. An incised horizontal line forms a border around the top with rough vertical drafting while the font itself has lightly incised horizontal drafting. The base of the font has octagonal moulding and it rests on a square base (Dims. 0.33m x 0.34m; H 0.43m) with chamfered angles.
