Described in the Civil Survey (1654-6) as 'a thatcht house' in 'Ballynamony' owned in 1640 by 'John Neale deceased (sonne to Hugh Neale of Ballyneale) gent. Irish Papist' (Simington 1931, vol.1, 268). This house is unlocated, however there is possibly that a thatched house (TS078-056----) just N of Ballynmona townland in Ballynacloona townland which could be that referred to in the Civil Survey.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
