What is recorded here

On a S-facing slope of Slievenamon in undulating rough pasture with a lot of thistles and nettles, particularly in the area of the monument. Monument levelled between its depiction on the 1st ed. OS 6-inch map (1840 ed.) and 1901-05 ed. with no visible trace at ground level. Field boundaries to N and W of monument are still intact. A kink in the N field boundary may respect the curving NE quadrant of the former earthwork. It is depicted on the 1st ed. OS 6-inch map as a roughly D-shaped enclosure (dims. c. 37m N-S; c. 44m E-W). This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
