On a gentle S-facing slope at the foot of Slievenamon. It is presently in the SE corner of the front garden of a house, near the driveway. This church is described in the OS Letters as 'an old Church in the Townland of Killurney in this Parish which gave name to the townland. The name is pronounced in Irish Cill Urnaighe, that is, the Church of Prayer, Cella Orationis. It stood where this is now an orchard belonging to Thomas Donnell, farmer. There is no trace of the Church now remaining but a portion of a wall which appears to be a part of the west gable....the whole remnant has been repaired wheresoever it was necessary for preserving it in the orchard as a “curiosity”' (O'Flanagan 1930, vol. 2, 148-9). This wall still survives (L 4.08m; max. H 3.5m; Wth 0.9m) with an ext. base-batter (H 1.05m; Wth 0.3m). It is constructed of red sandstone rubble with some large boulders used which have quartz inclusions. These large boulders are concentrated above the base-batter in the W face. No architectural features survive. According to local tradition there was a graveyard associated with this church which is located in the adjacent field to the S and in very dry weather traces of the former burial plots become visible.
