On slight rise which has augmented by accumulating of graves, in undulating terrain. Church (TS076-043----) located roughly in the centre of a square-shaped graveyard . Laneway leads from road up to a wrought iron gate with cut sandstone piers at the N end of W boundary of graveyard. Church is mentioned in the Civil Survey (1654-6) (Simington 1931, vol.1, 301) as 'the Church fenced with a ditch'. Majority of headstones are 18th and 19th-century in date, some 20th century. The earliest headstone visible dates to 1720. Graveyard was quite overgrown at time of inspection with long grass and nettles. Graveyard boundary is overgrown with scrub.
