What is recorded here

On the northern spur of the easternmost summit of the Galtee Mountain range. The spur runs N-S with ground falling away to E, though it is fairly level to the W. A cairn (TS075-064----) is visible on Bain summit c. 400m to the SSW. A low circular cairn (diam. 7-7.5m; max. H 0.8m) identified by Bob Withers. It consists of small boulders of old red sandstone covered in low heather, though there are some larger boulders on the E side, particularly in the SE quadrant. A more recent cairn (H 1m) has been constructed on top creating a pile of loose stones. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 30 April 2019
