What is recorded here

According to the Civil Survey (1654-6) there was 'adioyneing to the River of Swyer ...owne fishing weare' in 'Belladrohid' which in 1640 was owned by 'The Lord Archbishopp of Cashell' and leased by 'Edmond Butler of Belladrohid Gent.' (Simington 1934, vol. 2, 365). This weir remains unlocated within this townland. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 30 April 2014

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
