What is recorded here

Published in the notes section of the Journal of the Waterford and Southeast of Ireland Archaeological Society (1906, vol. 9, 18) is a reference to a burial urn 'containing calcined bones' that was excavated in Cheesemount townland. The urn was broken during the recovery. The exact location of this monument is unknown. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
