What is recorded here

In pasture, in disused and wet corner of field. Roughly oval area (map dims. 15m N-S; 20m E-W) defined by steep earthen scarp (Wth 2m; H 1.65m) NE-E-SW and abutting field boundary SW-N-NE. Shallow gully (Wth 3.75m; D 0.2m) from water run-off around W arc, where scarp levelled to abutting field boundary. Scarp truncated by shallow, yet wide linear drain (long-axis NNW-SSE) on E-side. Base of scarp undermined ESE-SSE by water outflow from drain which stagnates SE-SW of monument. Abutting field boundary turns sharply to WSW away from the monument at SW. Access to centre of interior not gained. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
