What is recorded here

In undulating pasture on top of low rise, within enclosure (TS070-045001-) and adjacent to W of castle (TS070-045002-). Settlement and the enclosure were levelled during 1970s land consolidation works. According to local information, the settlement was known as Crampstown and comprised of small random rubble stone built houses, which had collapsed and were covered in briars. Large mound (40m N-S; 13m E-W; H c. 2.5m) of earthen and stone material abuts scarp at SE and may be 1970s clearance material of the settlement.
