What is recorded here

According to Knowles (1903, 131) within the church of the Augustinian abbey (TS070-040004-) there was a tomb with an inscription which he translates as 'Here lies Edmund Everard, Gentleman, A.D. 152.'. It is possible that this graveslab was moved to the graveyard (TS070-040044-) and it one of the graveslabs whose inscriptions are no longer legible. As it can not be identified with certainty it is currently unlocated. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 18 January 2012

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
