In the graveyard (TS070-040044-) of the Augustinian abbey (TS070-040004-), under an arch in the E wall of the N transept. This slab, lying on its side facing E, is one of three graveslabs (uppermost TS070-040058-; facing W TS070-040059-) which have been positioned to take the form of a chest tomb. The dexter edge, including the border, is embedded in the ground. Described by Maher (1997, 57) as consisting of 'a seven-armed segmental cross carved in relief. Three cross-bands occurs at the base of the cross-head, surmounting the cross-shaft. A similar feature occurs at the base of the shaft, surmounting a pillar-base form. The inscripition, which is in Black Letter is visible only on the sinister side and across the base of the slab. It reads: HIC JACET TOMAS TILIUS O.... LE BUT(T)LET E(T)OH?(A)N(NA) (F)ILIA DERM(OT).. This was translated by Knowles (1903, 110) as: (Here lies Thomas, son of Edmund le Buttler and Johanna, daughter of Dermot O'Mulryan, A.D. 1524'.
