On gentle SE-facing slope in undulating pasture. Ringfort (TS069-005001-) located c. 20m to NW and enclosure (TS069-012----) is clearly visible on top of hillock c. 400 m to ESE. Ringfort has been levelled but W half (diam. 32.7m NNW-SSE) is still visible as a low curving earthen bank (Wth c. 6m; H 0.1m) with shallow ext. fosse (Wth 4.6m; D 0.14m). Monument was upstanding in 1982 when it was described as being in 'good condition' and was classified as a ringfort (Cahill 1982). In 1979 it was inspected and described as a rath with 'a small, probably circular area demarcated by a natural low platform surrounded by a deep U-shaped fosse. Entrance with causeway at E. SE segment of interior dug away' (OPW files). National Monument (No. 581) Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of revised upload: 9 July 2018
