In describing the boundaries of the parish of Kilfeakle the Civil Survey (1654-6) mentions 'from Knockanenenyny to a stone called Athgluny patrick' (Simington 1934, vol.2, 24). The name of this stone translates as the 'Place of Patrick's knees' and possibly refers to a bullaun stone with two basins which was associated with St Patrick. This holy/saint's stone is unlocated within the townlands of Rathgallen and Thomastown Demesne South.
