In Athassel Abbey (TS068-013----), in a vaulted store in the E range, under the former chapter house. The upper portion of a limestone slab (L 0.33m; Wth 0.49m) which is chamfered (D 0.05m) on the upper edge and sides. This appears to be a double head-slab, though both heads, in high relief, have been completely defaced leaving only the lower portion. The dexter head (L 0.21m; Wth 0.17m; D 0.07m) is probably that of a woman, while the sinister head (L 0.23m; Wth 0.15m; D 0.07m) is probably that of a man with some carved hair surviving on the sinister side. The underside of the slab is very rough. Head-slabs date to the 13th/14th century.
