What is recorded here

Fixed to the internal S wall of the choir. This is a small figure with a missing head. It is described by Hunt (1974, 220) being 'dressed in a long tunic or habit with very full sleeves and with a mantle over the shoulders, and holds a book'. Hunt suggests that the figure probably occupied a niche and represents a saint or prior, in the garb of a member of the Order, possibly even St. Augustine (ibid.).
