What is recorded here

In pasture, on a gentle SSE-facing slope, to S and SE of moated site complex (TS068-007---). Sub-rectangular area (dims. c. 86m NNW-SSE; c. 70m NNE-SSW) defined by linear depression (L c. 86m) on WSW side and slight trace of linear bank (L 70m) to SSE. Latter extends (L c. 19m) to WSW and terminates at existing field boundary and also extends to ENE where it terminates at edge of a large oval, man-made depression (dims. c. 15m NW-SE; c. 9m NE-SW). Defined by linear bank (L c. 96m) to ENE, curving at NE end and is possibly modified part of levelled moated site (TS068-00703-). Traces of bank extending (long-axis NE-SW) across interior area of levelled moated site form the NW side. Interior generally level, with some undulations in N-half. Linear channel (long-axis NW-SE; Wth 4.5m) to E is cut by a second depression of similar size. Latter possibly associated with leat system (TS068-00705-) or may be remnants of old trackway. Oval depressions may be small quarried areas. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
