According to the Civil Survey (1654-6) in ‘Ardanvollane', which was under the proprietorship of ‘Sr John Magrath of Allevollane Irish Papist’ in 1640, there 'stands a good stone house in repayre' (Simington 1934, vol. 2, 35). This house is unlocated within the townlands of Ardavullane, Rathkea and Shrough. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 22 Janurary 2013

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
