What is recorded here

In pasture, on a N-facing slope; Excellent views NW-NE. Oval area (dims. c. 28m N-S; c. 20m E-W) defined by bank (Wth 3.85m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 1.1m) which is obscured by overgrowth in places. Gap (Wth 5m) at WNW. Fosse (overall Wth 3.35m; basal Wth 1m; D 0.85m) WSW-W appears to have been deepened through drainage works. Water flows through fosse and exits into a linear land drain (long axis NW-SE) at W. Shallow channel noted in area of fosse ENE-SE but this may be a modern drainage feature. Fosse is obscured by dense vegetation SE-WSW where it is assumed to be shared with conjoined enclosure (TS066-071001-). Interior is obscured by overgrowth in SE-half and moderately accessible in NW-half. Earthen bank (long axis NE-SW; H 0.8m) flanked to SE by drain (D 0.95m) bisects interior as depicted on latest edition OS 6-inch map. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
